16 Hour On The Job Section Information

The 16 hour security guard training course must be completed within 90 days of employment as a security guard. This required course for security guards provides the student with detailed information on duties and responsibilities. Guardian Group services has been approved by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services to teach this course and all security courses, online. 

Topics covered in this course include: 

• The role of the security guard 

• Legal powers and limitations 
• Emergency situations 
• Communications and public relations 
• Access control 
• Ethics and conduct 

• Incident command system 
• Terrorism 

To successfully complete the course and to receive the training required certification, the student must satisfactorily pass the examination. The 16 Hour on the job training course for security guards consists of two days of training for $180 total. Once booking is completed, we will send a zoom link for the class. 

You can book this course separately, or the 8 and 16 Hour Security courses in the training program in a package deal. Once the 16 Hour On-The-Job Training Course has been completed, security guards must annually complete the 8 Hour Annual In-Service Training course thereafter, to keep the license in good standing.
