10-Hour Site Safety Training Program
Program Description
If you already have a valid OSHA 30 card issued in the last 5 years, you only need to complete 10 additional hours of DOB-approved Site Safety Training (SST) in order to obtain a 40-Hour Site Safety Training completion card.
Our 10-Hour SST Course is a comprehensive program consisting of two NYC DOB-approved SST prescribed courses:
- 8-Hour Fall Prevention
- 2-Hour Drug and Alcohol Awareness
8-Hour Fall Prevention
Approved by the New York City Department of Buildings (DOB), this course provides eight hours of Site Safety Training (SST) credits that can be applied toward a full SST card. Learners will be instructed on the importance of fall prevention techniques and ways to recognize and avoid common fall hazards on the job. Learners will also obtain key information about OSHA’s industry standards for fall prevention (29 CFR 1926 Subpart M) and identify different types of fall hazards, primary forms of fall protection, and more.
Upon completion of this course, learners will be prepared to:
- Explain the importance of fall prevention
- List terms associated with falls in construction
- Analyze fall hazards
- Use fall hazard information to evaluate scenarios about working at elevated job sites
- Recall OSHA Subpart M and other safety requirements associated with falls

2-Hour Drug and Alcohol Awareness
Approved by the New York City Department of Buildings (DOB), this course provides two hours of Site Safety Training (SST) credits that can be applied toward a full SST card. This course details the effects of drug and alcohol use/abuse on the human body and mind and describes specific substance abuse risks related to the construction industry. Learners will recognize the consequences of drug abuse and be informed on actionable steps that can be taken to avoid working under the influence.
Upon completing the course, learners will be able to:
- Describe the adverse effects of drugs and alcohol in the workplace
- Identify problems associated with substance abuse and addiction
- Recognize, avoid and prevent adverse consequences of substance use and abuse
- Explain how working under the influence of alcohol and illicit drugs can be avoided
- Identify issues of chemical dependency that may negatively affect the lives of loved ones

The cost of this course is all-inclusive, covering all applicable processing, administrative, and material fees.
Format: Online or In-Person Training
This training program takes ten hours to complete. You must pass a 29-question comprehensive final exam on the final day of the program. You will have two (2) opportunities to take and complete the exam with a passing grade of at least 70%.
Students are required to participate fully in class (this includes completing any assigned quizzes or demos), attend both courses for the complete number of hours required, and score at least a 70% on the final exam to successfully complete the 10-Hour program and receive SST course credit.
Students may receive partial credit for completion of at least one of the two courses in the program.
This program alone (without an OSHA 30 card, or OSHA 10 card with other applicable SST course credits) will not merit an SST card.
Successful completion of the program and any applicable pre- and co-requisites will merit a Site Safety Training card and an A.S.T. Certificate of Completion.
There is no additional fee required to receive the Site Safety Training Card (SST), the cost of the card is included in the total price.
