16-Hour Suspended Scaffold User
Program Description
To use or work on a Suspended Scaffold in New York City, an individual must successfully complete 16 hours of user training. Approved by the New York City Department of Buildings (DOB), the 16-Hour Suspended Scaffold User Course offers a comprehensive blend of lectures and hands-on training, focusing on essential techniques, risks, hazards, equipment, and regulations for operating suspended scaffolds on New York City construction sites.
Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of OSHA and DOB policies, procedures, and standards specific to suspended scaffolds. The course provides a detailed overview of how to recognize and prevent hazardous conditions. Students will learn to visually inspect suspended scaffold equipment and components, as well as the correct methods for assembling and disassembling them. Additionally, the course includes a practical component where students will actively engage in presenting, constructing, and utilizing various scaffolding and rigging applications, ensuring they are well-prepared for real-world scenarios.
NOTE: In addition to completing this training course, individuals who use a Suspended Scaffold may also need to possess a Certificate of Fitness from a licensed rigger or sign hanger.

The cost of this course is all-inclusive, covering all applicable processing, administrative, and material fees.
Format: Hybrid (Virtual + In-Person), or In-Person Training.
This training program takes at least sixteen (16) hours to complete. You are required to participate fully in class (this includes completing any assigned quizzes or demos), attend the course for the complete number of hours required, and score at least a 70% on the final exam to successfully complete the program and receive SST course credit. This program alone (without an OSHA 30 card, or OSHA 10 card with other applicable SST course credits) will not merit an SST card,only a 16-Hour Suspended Scaffold User Training completion card plus SST course credit.
