22-Hour Site Safety Supervisor Program

Program Description

If you already have an OSHA 30 card and a 40-Hour Site Safety Training (SST) card or equivalent course credits, you only need to complete 22 additional hours of DOB-approved Site Safety Training courses in order to obtain a 62-Hour Supervisor SST card. Local Law 196 of 2017 requires Supervisors at job sites requiring a Construction Superintendent, Site Safety Coordinator, or Site Safety Manager to receive 62 hours of site safety training (SST). This includes Site Safety Managers, Site Safety Coordinators, Concrete Safety Managers, Construction Superintendents, and Competent Persons designated by Construction Superintendents.


Our 22-Hour Site Safety Supervisor Program is a comprehensive program consisting of nine NYC DOB-approved SST prescribed courses:

  • 8-Hour Site Safety Manager Refresher/Chapter 33
  • 4-Hour Supported Scaffold User and Refresher (Scaffold Card and SST)
  • 2-Hour Site Safety Plan (SSP)
  • 2-Hour Pre-Task Meeting
  • 2-Hour Tool Box Talks
  • 1-Hour Electrocution Prevention
  • 1-Hour Handling Heavy Materials and Proper Lifting Techniques
  • 1-Hour Confined Space Entry
  • 1-Hour Ergonomics

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course program, learners will be prepared to:

  • Distinguish between the OSHA standards and New York City Department of Buildings Chapter 33 regulations
  • Recognize the types of supported scaffolds and various safety controls
  • Identify hazards associated with supported scaffolds
  • Describe components of a site safety plan as specified by the New York City Department of Buildings
  • Understand administrative regulatory requirements associated with pre-task meetings
  • Understand how effective Toolbox Talks can increase camaraderie, communication, and benefit overall jobsite culture
  • Recognize electrical hazards and utilize preventative measures to reduce the risk of injury
  • Recognize hazards associated with overexertion and musculoskeletal stress
  • Avoid injuries associated with lifting
  • Identify examples of confined spaces and the major hazards associated with confined spaces
  • Understand different ergonomic risk factors and how to reduce them

The cost of this course is all-inclusive, covering all applicable processing, administrative, and material fees.

Format: Online or In-Person Training

This training program takes at least twenty-two (22) hours to complete. You must pass one (1) exam for each course, issued upon conclusion of each course lecture and related workshops. You will have two (2) opportunities to take and complete the exams with a passing grade of at least 70%. You are required to participate fully in class (this includes completing any assigned quizzes or demos), attend all courses for the complete number of hours required, and score at least a 70% on all final exams to successfully complete the 22-Hour program and receive SST course credit. You may receive partial credit for completion of at least one of the nine courses in the program. This program alone (without an OSHA 30 card, or OSHA 10 card with other applicable SST course credits) will not merit an SST card,only a 4-Hour Supported Scaffold Training completion card plus SST course credit for the involved courses.

There is no additional fee required to receive the Site Safety Training Card (SST), the cost of the card is included in the total price.
